Help keep Manchester Clean by becoming a Community Guardian...
- Do you live in Manchester?
- Do you care about the appearance of your neighbourhood and want to help improve your environment?
- Why not become a Community Guardian?
Introduction
A Community Guardian is a resident who 'adopts' their local area and who works closely with Manchester City Council to ensure that any environmental problems in the area are dealt with promptly.
It's a voluntary role which can include:
- Taking a few minutes to report graffiti, dumped rubbish or a broken
streetlight using a freephone number which we will provide - Organising and /or participating in local environmental improvements,
clean ups or litter picks - Monitoring potential dog fouling problems and reporting offenders
- Acting as a tree or plant warden in the summer months by keeping trees
or flower beds in your street watered - Generally reporting anything wrong (or right) with the environment and
Manchester City Council's environmental services in your area
You could concentrate purely on your own street or keep watch on a few streets within your area. The views and opinions of Community Guardians are incredibly valuable to the City Council so this is your chance to make your voice heard and really make a difference to your local environment.
